ASPIRE Super Kids:  Partners & Possibilities

On September 20, the ASPIRE Super Kids welcomed Jodi Hitz from ISU Extension.  She kicked off her first food and nutrition presentation with lots of fun.

First, the kids came up with a list of how to stay safe in the kitchen.  Then, Jodi did a humorous demonstration of all the wrong things to do when making a snack, such as: using the knife that dropped on the floor or licking the spoon.  She explained the correct procedure for hand washing and then even inspected their hands for “germs” under the black light.

The evening concluded with the kids working together to make a Magical Fruit Salad for snack.  Some kids were in charge of cutting the apples.  Some sliced the bananas.  Some mixed the pudding and others combined all the ingredients to make a delicious treat for everyone to enjoy.

Thank you, Mrs. Hitz, for partnering with ASPIRE Super Kids this year.  The kids can’t wait for her to come back next month!
