Hello Juniors & Junior Parents!
Happy Prom week! First of all, I want to thank all of you for your help and hard work the last few months. I know there are track meets later this week, which means several students will not be able to help build. We would love any help building prom this week.
Thursday AND Friday: Work on building prom. We will start at 5 in the big gym on both nights. Any juniors available should be in attendance. Any parents who can help, it would be appreciated, even if you can't make it right at 5, the help is still needed and appreciated! If anyone has balloon pumps, we would love to borrow them. We will be inflating balloons on Friday evening.
SUNDAY: We will need to clean up!!! We will begin cleaning up at 12:00, hopefully this will give the students time to sleep in after being up all night. I will be providing breakfast pizza and donuts to those who show up to help clean! THE GYM NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY CLEAN BY 4:00!!! So PLEASE plan to have your junior come to help clean up! Last year only two students showed up so Mr. Updike and I had to clean most of it on our own with those two students!

The East Union golf ⛳️ teams represented on the greens today!
🥇 The girls team of Kaelee Buffington, Kathryn Lack, Gwen Nixon, Mia Tallmon, and Maryls Mitchell took 1st as a team.
🥇 Gwen Nixon was overall 1st place for girls.
🥈 Kathryn Lack was runner up for girls.
🥈 Zayne Eslinger was runner up for boys. (Carded out for 1st)

Iowa’s top academic students were chosen by their member schools for the 2025 Governor’s Scholar Program. The Governor’s Office, the Iowa High School Athletic Association, and its Title Sponsor, the Iowa Farm Bureau, presented this recognition which began in 2003.
Today, April 27th, 2025, 371 seniors were honored as high academic achievers. It is our honor to recognize Molly Gennaro as the East Union 2025 Governor’s Scholar.

We will be hosting a drive thru Fried Chicken Dinner @ The Union County Fairgrounds on Tuesday, May 13th from 4:30-6:30pm. While under new ownership, it is still the famous Thelma's Chicken!!

The halls at EU were filled with smiles today! Sheriff Brian Bolton brought Patch, the newest deputy from the Union County Sheriff’s Office. Patch is the county’s Crisis Response Canine. His job is to comfort and support those he is around. He will be back to visit again soon!

Reminder: East Union Schools will be in session tomorrow April 14th. This will be a full day of school to make up for a lost school day due to snow.
For those planning on attending the Baseball Spring League game in Creston tomorrow, due to Creston's Prom, you'll have to take a different route to the field.
Go North of the YMCA, then turn east into the Middle/Elementary Schools Entrance. Follow the road to the south by the football field, then turn back east into the parking lot.
Congratulations to Senior, Cora McNeil and Junior, Alexis Goodemote on their entries into the Duck Stamp Competition. Cora received 3rd place and Alexis received an honorable mention. Great artistic talent!
