
He did it AGAIN! Sophomore, Morgan Cooley broke his own school record for Shot Put at last night's Boys Track Meet at Central College! A record that lasted exactly 1 week, which had previously been held since 1977. Last night, he broke his own record by 3 feet! He won the event and set a new record with a throw of 54' 8"!


East Union has received a couple of opportunities for students to earn community service hours towards graduation. Students in grades 9-12 are required to have 50 total hours to graduate. (9th: 10 hrs, 10th: 10 hrs, 11th: 15 hrs, and 12th: 15 hrs). If you are interested in either of these opportunities, reach out.

Students are selling delicious pies and bakeshop items through Monday, March 18th, 2024. Items will be delivered just in time for Easter. Items will be picked up and delivered by March 28th. What is Eagles Take Flight?
A group of students that have signed up through EF Tours to explore the world through hands-on education. It is designed to allow students to become world travelers safely. These students are responsible for paying for their own educational trip. Fundraising is just one of the ways to help the students and parents fund the trip.



Ms. Vaughan's students had the honor of performing in the Junior High Honor Band at Lenox High School tonight. Performing were Eastyn Sick, Asher Aldrich, Cyler Wuebker, and Hayden Mohr.

RECORD BREAKER ALERT! Last night the Eagles Boy's Track team competed at the IATC Indoor Championships and Sophomore Morgan Cooley took home 3rd place in the shot put with a throw of 51' 0.5". This is also a new Eagle Record, previously held by D. Mitchell at 50'7.25" in 1977!

This weekend many of our Eagles, HS/MS/Elem. students competed in Volleyball, Archery, and Wrestling. We have some amazing accolades to celebrate!
We will start off with Archery!
Avery Cheers finished 7th place at the State Archery Shoot. Gaige Mohr finished 2nd place at the State Archery Shoot. Gaige also received a $1,000 scholarship award for his two combined top scores plus his state score.
Both Avery and Gaige have earned the honor of representing East Union Archery at NATIONALS in Louisville, KY in May.
Our Muscle Mat Club competed in Girls AAU State, Pee Wee State, and Southwest Iowa District 8 AAU Duals wrestling. We have some tough and talented wrestlers.
Billie Dike, Azaylea Clear, and Konnor Tucker wrestled extremely well and placed as follows:
Billie Dike - 2nd
Azaylea Clear - 5th
Konnor Tucker - 6th
Charlie Dike wrestled as well and owned the weekend! She is Girls AAU State Champ at 124!
Weston McFarland, Truett Needham, and Silas Hayes were part of the Southwest Iowa District 8 AAU Duals team this weekend. Congratulations to Truett Needham and Silas Hayes duals team on Dual CHAMPS! Weston's duals team came up just short and placed 2nd.
Eagle Elite 11U Volleyball girls placed 2nd and Eagle Elite 13/14U placed 1st in their Winterset Tournament this weekend.
Congratulations to all our Eagles on a successful weekend! Keep working hard in and out of the classrooms.

It was another great day at East Union. We were able to celebrate our State Archery students! They will be shooting at the Iowa State Fairgrounds today and tomorrow in the Jacobson Building! Several of our students qualified for both bullseye and 3D.

There will be a Boy's High School Track parent meeting on Thursday 2/29/2024 at 6 pm in the High School Concourse.

Saturday, February 24th was an amazing day in our small but mighty town. East Union hosted Individual Speech Events for the first time in over 32 years! It truly took a village to pull this event together.
Earning Division 1 ratings and advancing to State Contest at ADM in Adel on March 9th: Rebecca Young, Storytelling; Mia Tallmon, Storetelly; Aiden Denton, Radio News; and Khloe Parker, Radio News. Earning Division II ratings, performing very well: Jensen Waigand, Radio News; Kathryn Lack, Literary Program + Prose; Rebecca Young, Literary Program; Mia Tallmon, Literary Program; Brock Driskill, Spontaneous Speaking + Improvisation; and Hunter Swanson, Spontaneous Speaking.
