It was “Teamwork Day” today at East Union Elementary! Our Eagle PBIS Team members planned a great afternoon of activities that showcased our February and March PBIS “Teamwork” theme. After participating in six different events, our students and staff members enjoyed a beautiful walk around the track, and ended the day with a group photo and a snack. Thank you to Ms. Baudler, Mrs. Mason, Mrs. Comstock, Mrs. Pettit, Mr. Patten, Mr. Kinyon, and Mrs. Mostek for facilitating the fun. As we coast into the final quarter of the school year, our April and May theme will be “Growth Mindset,” when we will celebrate our accomplishments and look forward to learning and growing in the years to come.

This week is Parent-Teacher Conferences.  We will be running a regular class schedule on Monday, March 10th and Wednesday, March 12th, with a 1:15pm dismissal on Tuesday, March 11th and Thursday, March 13th. There will be no school on Friday, March 14th. Classes will resume on Tuesday, March 25th.  If you haven't received communication about a one on one conference time, please know that you are welcome to contact the office to schedule one if needed. We will be holding conference open house hours from 2-8pm. Please review the flyer for all the wonderful events happening during conference time. #EaglePride

Saturday, March 1st our East Union FFA Chapter went to Murray for their District Contest. FFA members competed in Extemporaneous Speaking, Conduct of Meetings, Parliamentary Procedures, along with tests and quizzes. ✨Advancing to State is our Parliamentary Procedures Team. Team members are: Brock Jones, Gwen Nixon, Molly Generro, Ivy Eklund, and Colton McKnight. Eagle 🦅 Nation is proud of you and wish you good luck at State in April. 💙🤍

East Union MMC wrestlers 🤼 gave it their all this past weekend at state! Congratulations to all the wrestlers who earned their spot to wrestle at the Well. Each one of them wrestled their hearts 🩵 out, leaving it all on the mat. 🚨State Bound Alert 🚨 Two of our Eagle 🦅 Elite AAU Volleyball 🏐 teams are headed to State. Saturday, February 8th our 10th Grade Eagle Elite team placed 2nd 🥈qualifying them for the AAU State Golds Tournament. This will take place on March 29th in Sioux Center. Saturday, March 1st our 6th grade Eagle Elite team took home 1st 🥇place qualifying them for the AAU State Golds Tournament. This will take place on March 22nd in Marshalltown. Great work ladies! East Union Speech team had a marvelous day at District Individual Events speech contest in Mt. Ayr. We had 13 students compete in 20 events. Out of our 20 events, 12 events received Division 1 ratings and will advance to State Individual Events. State Individual Events will be Saturday, March 15th at Ames High School. Receiving a 1 rating, performing phenomenally were 12 events.
