Public Hearing – School Calendar
Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Board of Directors of the East Union Community School District on the proposed school calendar for the 2026–2027 school year. The hearing will take place on April 20, 2026, at 6:35 p.m. in the Collaborative Learning Center.
The proposed calendar includes the start and end dates for the school year, scheduled holidays, professional development days, and other key dates. Interested persons are invited to attend the hearing and provide input or comments regarding the proposed calendar.

YES! Family Literacy and Learning Night, along with the 8:00 drone show on the football field, will take place tonight at East Union Schools! We had a great day of learning with Don “The Wiz” Wisneiski and his crew from Fantasy Drones. We kindly remind you that the 6:00 assembly and the meal following are for our East Union kindergarten through fifth grade students and their families. The 8:00 drone show is open to the community. We ask that you be seated on the north side of the football field and track, please. Dress warm, and we look forward to seeing you there!

Students from East Union achieved top honors at the Iowa Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) State Leadership Conference held in Cedar Rapids, March 29th - 31st. Four members competed in business events, with one student qualifying for the National Leadership Conference in San Antonio this summer.
"Our students demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication, and professionalism," said DJ Christensen, FBLA Chapter Advisor. "These accomplishments reflect their commitment to developing business skills".
Key Award Winners Included:
*Brock Driskill: 1st Place in Economics, 1st Place in Agribusiness, 1st Place in Personal Finance, and 4th Place in Securities and Investments.
*Cyler Wuebker: 7th Place in Job Interview.
*Carter Harper: 8th Place in Intro to Public Speaking.
*Peyton Cunningham: 9th Place in Future Business Leader.
The State Leadership Conference brought together over 1,200 students to participate in competitive events, attend leadership workshops, and network, preparing them for careers in business and entrepreneurship.
DJ said, “I am extremely proud of these students. We are a brand new club and did not know what to expect going into district and state competitions. These four members not only placed 1st or 2nd at Districts but also went on to State and finished in the top 10 overall.”
