East Union Community,
Last weekend we lost a staff member and recent EU graduate in a car accident. Amber Lacina graduated from East Union High School in 2021 and had been working with us as an associate in the elementary school this year. Services for Amber are on the morning of May 22nd and due to the large number of staff wanting to attend, we will not be having classes on the 22nd. We will utilize some of the extra hours built into the calendar and won’t be making this day up.
Elementary students who utilize the ECC on typical Mondays will have the opportunity for childcare through the ECC. Look for a Brightwheel notification.
Evening activities will continue as planned.
Thank you for your understanding as we navigate this challenging time.
Sincerely,
Tim Kuehl

Every day is a great day to be an East Union Eagle, but some are extra special. Today we celebrated the first day of “Staff Appreciation Week,” and thanks to our Parent Teacher Organization, each staff member received a favorite drink and an EU koozie! And the PTO didn’t stop there…for this beautiful, sunny Track Day, each student received an East Union hat to wear throughout the day and to keep forever! And, on one of the loveliest of days to spend time outdoors together, we honored our own Mr. Steve Kinyon as we celebrated his good health and his service to East Union by renaming this annual event: forever after, it will be known as the Steve Kinyon East Union Elementary Track Day. Finally, we thank Ms. Dusti Hayes for organizing this year’s Track Day, along with all of the volunteers who helped make it a huge success. Eagle PRIDE…Eagle Joy!

Hello Juniors & Junior Parents!
Happy Prom week! First of all, I want to thank all of you for your help and hard work the last few months. I know there are track meets later this week, which means several students will not be able to help build. We would love any help building prom this week.
Thursday AND Friday: Work on building prom. We will start at 5 in the big gym on both nights. Any juniors available should be in attendance. Any parents who can help, it would be appreciated, even if you can't make it right at 5, the help is still needed and appreciated! If anyone has balloon pumps, we would love to borrow them. We will be inflating balloons on Friday evening.
SUNDAY: We will need to clean up!!! We will begin cleaning up at 12:00, hopefully this will give the students time to sleep in after being up all night. I will be providing breakfast pizza and donuts to those who show up to help clean! THE GYM NEEDS TO BE COMPLETELY CLEAN BY 4:00!!! So PLEASE plan to have your junior come to help clean up! Last year only two students showed up so Mr. Updike and I had to clean most of it on our own with those two students!
Please be sure to email me, call or text me at (641) 414-2306 if you have any questions!
Thanks again!
Mrs. Aldrich
