“There’s a last time for everything.” And so it goes as another school year draws to a close. East Union staff members and students celebrated the last day of school with the beloved tradition of waving (and screaming) good-bye to one another on May 24th, and today staff members enjoyed the end-of-the-year luncheon during which we acknowledged 5-year incremental milestones for veteran employees, and bid friends who are leaving the district farewell and many thanks for their service to our school. Another big “Thank You” goes to Mr. Bobby Walters and Mr. Greg Bailey, representing the Union County Cattlemen, for grilling burgers for our meal. As we look forward to the summer and prepare for a new school year, we know that “every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.” The wonderful world of education allows us to celebrate those new beginnings each day as we continue to “fly like an eagle” here at East Union in the days ahead.

It was a beautiful day to celebrate a year’s worth of reading at Winterset’s city park! All second through fifth grade students attained their annual Accelerated Reading goals and were eligible to participate. We took walks to the tower, played on the playground, held rousing kickball competitions, and enjoyed a picnic with friends. A huge “THANK YOU” to Mrs. Cummings for organizing the event. We all had a terrific time!
